Updated for Windows 11
Trouble reports on the internet suggest that disabling/stopping the Windows
Service "Touch screen keyboard and handwriting panel" solves problems
with many programs including the FT4Web Family Tab.
Touble Shooting
Step 1
Restart your computer, then make sure you've completed all of
Microsoft's' requested Windows Updates. Usually every thing will work at this time.
If this does not solve the problem, complete the next step
Step 2
Disable the Touch Keyboard Service
This is the first step, and the step that should suffice for the
majority of users of Windows 10. Also works for Windows 8, see below.

Open up the Services menu by pressing Windows (key that looks like a
window) + R on your keyboard.

Type “services.msc” in the box and click OK.

In the Services menu that pops up, click on “Name” in the header of
the leftmost column to sort the services alphabetically

Scroll to “Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service”.

Double click on the entry

Change Startup type to Disabled.

Click Apply and OK if available under "Service status"

Click “OK” then, reboot your computer. The change should be
permanent. Your Family Tab should work.

Step 3
Remove Touch Keyboard Service Auto Start

Right-click the Window button, then select Run
-
Type "sc delete TabletInputService" (no quotes) and press Enter.

Reboot your computer
